Derma e Anti-Aging Skincare Regimen + Review
derma e and I go way back-back. Srsly, I’ve been using this brand for what feels like 5,562 years. Ha, see? Their anti-aging products work because I don’t look a day over 25, right? 😉 Anyhoo, this brand is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten free, and GMO-free. If you haven’t given them a try, you probably should, especially if you’re obsessed with wrinkle fightin’ goodies.
A few derma e favs:
Microdermabrasion Scrub, $32.50 – Ya know, a mircodermabrasion sesh at a spa can cost $100-200 per treatment, which is craaaaaazy! That’s cupcake money right there… for like, months! This derma e scrub, which uses a crystal blend including Dead Sea Salt and Volcanic Sand (rich in Silica), is a hella affordable alternative. It does a pretty good job at buffing skin to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and it’s way gentler than the spa-sy treatment, which I definitely appreciate.
Purifying Toner Mist, $15.50 – After cleansing the skin, toners are essential. They’re not only refreshing but they help rebalance your skin and calm it the F down. This toner is mineral-rich, antioxidant-rich and is made with Kimarine Wakame (a potassium-rich, magnesium-rich seaweed), Bladderwrack (another mineral-rich seaweed), green tea, and aloe leaf juice. It has yummy, sweet and fruity scent to it, too. I likey very much!
Hydrating Day Cream, $29.50 – I’m a firm believer in using separate facial creams for day and night. I like my daytime ones to be a little lighter and makeup friendlier, and I like my nighttime ones hella thick and full of plant-based butters and oils. This day creme is fine and silky in texture and contains Hyaluronic Acid, which binds moisture to help plump, soften, smooth, tone and rehydrate skin. It’s enriched with anti-aging green tea, vitamins C and E, aloe. Just a heads up, both the day and night creams have a plumeria ‘fragrance’ (I think it’s artificial, but I’m not sure) added to them which is ever so slightly overpowering. It’s a pretty floral scent, but I personally prefer to use unscented or naturally scented products on my face.
Hydrating Night Creme, $29.50 – This night cream is extra-rich (and thicker than its daytime counterpart) and still contains our friend Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamins C and E, and Aloe. Again, the scent is a bit strong but the formula is quite nice.
Firming DMAE Eye Lift, $24.95 – Gah, I’m in my 30s and eye creams are my bae. I will take them ALL, gimme gimme!! This lil’ magical tube contains advanced, clinically proven natural ingredients Hyaluronic Acid (moisture infuser), DMAE (skin firmer), InstaLift Goji Berry glycopeptides (for extra firmage… so much fanciness right there!), and peptides Argireline and Matrixyl synthe’6 (mah head is gonna explode, y’all!) – these work together “to soften facial muscles and synthesize new key components such as collagen, helping smooth wrinkles and discourage new lines from forming.” A little goes a long way, so this tiny tube should last you a few months! I use eye creams on the reg so I can’t tell if this is better or as good as some of the other eye creams I’ve been using, but I can say that it feels great on the skin, and my under eye areas are definitely staying hydrated.
Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask, $19.50 – Oh, I love this mask SO much. It’s made with natural clays infused with Kimarine Wakame (seaweed), Bladerwrack (again, seaweed), and Activated Charcoal (new superstar ingredient that’s taking the beauty world by storm). If you’re looking to de-gunk your pores, you need to stuff in your life, like yesterday! You can almost feel it lifting the dirt and toxins out of your skin while you wear it. This is especially great for oily skin but it’s also safe for sensitive skin (it has minimal ingredients, no fragrance – yay- and is allergy-tested). I’m kind of obsessed with this mask and use it once a week.
